The company, based in Old Town, had to shut its Newport Street premises in 2021 when first a flood, then fire, ruined the entire contents of its ground-floor offices.

The Minuteman Press team were still able to help customers while the premises were closed, thanks to their online presence, and they even launched a new website.

Now the offices and print room facilities have been completely refurbished with new equipment which provides more services than before.

“Our customers have been really supportive and fortunately, we were able to carry on trading while our premises were closed,” said James Beckwith, Managing Director of Minuteman Press Swindon.

“We now have totally new kit, and because it is so versatile, we can offer more options than before, with an even faster turnaround.”

A new Xerox Iridesse printer is faster, with greater capability and can also print silver, gold and clear. The upgraded cutting, slitting and creasing machine has the addition of being able to make perforations, and a new Latex machine can print and cut vinyl.

James added: “The new Xerox Iridesse is a full production press allowing us more and faster capabilities as well as improved image quality over our previous presses. Even our booklet-making capacity has improved. Whereas before, making a large number of booklets could take several hours, we can now produce up to 3,000 booklets in an hour.”

There are also plans to introduce a self-service print facility, using an additional printer which will allow customers to walk in and print from a file or by scanning. James added: “This is really ideal if someone wants a return label printed, for example. We always offered this kind of service for customers, but soon they will be able to do it on a DIY basis.”
