Swindon Designer Outlet sold in £600m package deal

The Swindon Designer Outlet is under new ownership after a deal worth £600 million was secured with LaSalle Investment Management now managing the property.

The multi-million pound takeover deal is the biggest retail property for over six years and will see the popular Designer Outlet run alongside the Cheshire Oaks mall that was also included in the deal.

News of a takeover deal was well received by many of Swindon’s shoppers, with fears arising over recent months that the outlet shopping mall could be shut down, however the new deal has seen its future secured.

Wholesale changes aren’t expected to take place at the Designer Outlet with the venue still set to be run by McArthurGlen under the new owners.

One Swindon resident have us their thoughts on the announcement, saying:

“It is brilliant for Swindon to see so much investment in one of our brilliant shopping centres.

“I love the Designer Outlet and have been coming here for years so it is great news that it will continue for years to come.

“I was worried it might shut down a while ago so I am delighted to hear about the new deal securing its future.”
