REVIEW: Adventure Point Explorer Ticket

If you're looking for non-stop fun and entertainment for children and adults alike, then Adventure Point Swindon is the place to go.

We booked the Explorer Ticket to try out all the activities at Adventure Point Swindon and even though it was a rainy day the excitement in the car was a fever pitch.

It really is the one-stop multi-activity destination based at Shaw Ridge Leisure Park. The activities can be booked individually for shorter time scales or in sessions if you're looking for a really fun day out, group bookings, families, birthdays, date night, or time with friends, the activities cater to all sizes and abilities.

Shaw Ridge Leisure Park offers a large parking area so you can park outside at no extra charge.

We entered a great range of Amusement arcade games and American Pool which we spent a little time on before our first booking. We were greeted by friendly staff who talked us through our booking, timescales, and what to expect.

We had booked in first for Laser Quest which can be a solo or team mission and in a state-of-the-art designed combat arena. After choosing our player names, we were taken into a room to watch the instruction and safety video before being fitted in our futuristic body pack and infrared hand-held units and vests. Our party was raring to go, we entered the darkened arena to a mist of fog, special effects, and mazes and we were off - the adrenaline was pumping, and the challenge was on!

The game's aim is to shoot opponents' vest targets with a pain-free laser gun as many times as possible to up your score while avoiding being hit by competitors. It is a game that all ages can enjoy and is great for teamwork, exercise, and a heightened heart rate!

What a blast in every sense, 20 thrilling minutes later our game was over and we excitedly waited to receive our individual scoreboards to see who the winners were. This energetic activity was highly enjoyable and suitable for all ages.

We then stopped for well-needed drinks, they offer slushies and soft drinks from the bar area. We then made our way over to Jungle Rocks Adventure Golf, and from here the competitiveness continued. Designed by ex-industry film set designers The 9-hole Crazy Golf Adventure course offers a real wow factor. With our individual scorecards, we set off enthusiastically on the course. It was fun, enjoyable, challenging, and entertaining. I would highly recommend it.

Nearing lunch time we stopped to order food and Adventure Point offers a great selection of tasty Rollover Hot Dogs, including standard, Chilli and Cheese, Vegan, Loaded Cheese, Salsa, and Sour Cream Nachos, cakes, and snacks as well as coffee and tea, slushies, soft drinks and a range of alcoholic beverages.

Next to the snack bar, the birthday party room was in full swing with laughter echoing around. The atmosphere is buzzing. Birthday parties come with private room hire and a place for you to celebrate with your group exclusively.

Fully refreshed and eager to get on, we headed to the waiting area for our Clue HQ Escape Room Game. At Adventure Point there are several games to choose from Bunker 38, Detonation, A-1-9, we had booked for The Betrayal of Cluetankhamun.

The escape rooms are an immersive experience designed for groups of 2-6. You are given 60 minutes to find the clues, solve the puzzles and escape the room before the time runs out.

We had some group members who were new to the Escape Room experience and after a safety briefing, entered with anticipation and suspense. Our room was superbly themed, and all team members took this opportunity to challenge themselves by using intelligence to decipher the clues while guided by the watching team on the monitor.

As the clock ticked down the team pressure and excitement built as we rushed to escape!

Adventure Point escape rooms are thrillingly superb and we will definitely be back to try the others.

The Mega Pass is excellent value for money if you're looking for hours of fun. Games can also be booked individually and exclusive hire can also be booked.

Adventure Point is fantastic, we all loved the experience, and we are so lucky to have this on our doorstep.
