Rachel Weaven

Rachel Weaven of face2faceHR is excited to start the new year!

It’s the start of a new year and businesses are working on their growth and plans for the next twelve months. We’re talking to small businesses based in Swindon to see what their plans are for the first month of 2024.

Up today is Rachel Weaven, HR Consultant of face2faceHR. Rachel offers tailored, flexible HR solutions to small – medium sized businesses in and around the Swindon and Marlborough area.

What big things are you looking forward to in 2024?
I am looking forward to growing my business and I have some exciting new products and workshops coming out

Can you share your business ethics for 2024? How do you want your brand to come across?
Being in the HR industry, ethics and how people operate are extremely important to me. For me I think it’s important to work with people that I am aligned with and feel they have the same values as me and that they want the best for their staff, hence my tag line, ‘HR for nice people’.

What are you planning to do differently or to do better in 2024?
Over the Christmas period I took some time to reflect on 2023 to see how things could be make better for 2024 and I’ve also made sure that I took the time to look at my back office to ensure things are running a bit smoother and slicker for any new clients I am onboarding.

What are you doing for charity or community this year?
I work very closely with my old secondary school Kingsbury Green Academy in Calne supporting their careers team with interview days, careers fair and I will also be taking one of their students for work experience this year

This year will be a big year of sport – most notably the Olympics and Paralympics. If you enjoy these events can you name those moments you watched/experienced which have stayed with you? Why?
I love the Olympics, especially the track events and I can still remember Sally Gunnell winning her races, Mo Farah smashing his races and Kris Akabussi winning the relay for us, I also loved watching Usain Bolt!!  I love seeing the teamwork and the celebrations when they win. I will of course also be watching the Paralympics to support my friend Louise Hunt Skelley’s hubby in his quest to retain his gold medal - Go Chris!

There are multiple ‘awareness’ days & weeks & months in January 2024. Could you pick just one and say why you’ll be engaging with it?
I normally make a note of Blue Monday. Being a HR professional, I think days like there are a great way to raise awareness and make sure people know that there is someone that they can talk to – all they need to do is reach out.

Anything else you’d like to say?
I’m really looking forward to 2024 and hope everyone has an awesome year
