Your Total Guide To Business

Rachel Weaven

October is going to be a fantastic month for Rachel Weaven of face2faceHR and today she's telling us why!

It’s October, the month of Halloween and the weather is getting colder!

Today we're talking to Rachel Weaven, HR Consultant of face2faceHR. Rachel offers tailored, flexible HR solutions to small – medium sized businesses in and around the Swindon and Marlborough area.

What’s coming up for your business/organisation in Q4?
Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to move our Building Bridges workshop to 8 November but the plus side is that this has given me and Louise an opportunity to be able to run a taster session for this workshop with the CIPD on 17th October https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/building-bridges-embracing-diversity-in-the-workplace-tickets-721937272817?aff=oddtdtcreator

October represents several awareness months. Are any relevant to you in your business or personal life?
For me ADHD awareness month, World Blindness Awareness month & black history month. As a HR Consultant one of the things I am so passionate about is employees being able to bring them whole selves to work. Being an inclusive employer brings so many benefits to an organisation and I want to promote that. Along with these, it is also Emotional Intelligence Awareness month, and this also is extremely important in the work I do as it allows me to bring that empath element to HR as we are after all dealing with people and a lot of conflict in the workplace is down to emotions and how employees feel.

Did you know October 10 is World Mental Health Day. How important is this subject in your business and in your life?
This is so important to me and having experienced it first hand I want to ensure that my clients are equipped to deal with anything surrounding this topic whether this is through processes and policy or having the softer skills to approach and support their staff.

Some ‘quirky’ moments happening this month are:
I do love a nice handbag and one of my faves when I was younger was an Audrey Hepburn one and I treated myself to a Disney one when in America earlier this year. Also one of my fave brands Wrendale have some lovely designs and I’m saving up for a Scamp and Dude one - they’re soo pretty!

Clocks go back this month and we get an extra hour in bed. How do you see ‘time’ in your business or organisation?
It took me a long time to adjust to my hours and running my own business. I was stuck in a 9-5 mentality but I love the flexibility of time my business has given me to manage my home life alongside growing my business and supporting my clients.

Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
As I mentioned above my workshop moved to 8th November so there is space on that if any of you lovely readers would like to join me https://buytickets.at/face2facehrswindon/985188

And finally, tell us one thing you love about the autumn/winter months?
I am normally more of a summer person, but I do love the Autumn with the leaves changing colour and that mix of sun but bit of a cold breeze - just beautiful.
