Luke Craven from BiJimini Spices - Summer Q&A 2021

Today we're discussing some of those things with Luke Craven who is the young managing director of new brand BiJimini Spices. It's a new product which introduces ground crickets with cajun spice, a sustainable source of food. Luke lives in Wiltshire, is as former student of Malmesbury School and also has a degree in agri business.

What are your plans for July in your business?

I would like to start generating interest and grow my brand and also to start to really spread the word about insects, particularly, crickets as a sustainable food source which is rich in protein.

What are your personal plans for this month?

To work hard on my new business and also to take some time out with a few friends to go camping. Devon will be our destination.

Does July hold any particular significance for you or your business/organisation?

My website moved from the preorders stage to stock available for immediate dispatch. So effectively my business was launched to the public in Wiltshire and beyond.

July is often associated with sport in the UK – with other events like the British Open (golf) and also Wimbledon? How important is sport to you in your life or business?

Sport is massively important in my life and always has been. I have been a member of the local hockey team since a young age. I know attend a local Systema class which I’m enjoying.

Can you name one business you’d like to give a summer shout out too? Who has gone the extra mile for you recently?

Greg Clemett Creative Generation. Graphic designer who has really supported me.

Have you got any events planned for the coming months which you’d like to mention – where you and/or your business will take a leading role?

We entered nine out of 17 categories in the Great British Entrepreneurial Awards - so no one can say we're not trying!
