Yvonne Parker of Yvonne Parker Hypnotherapy is sharing her tips to stay stress free this May!

Yvonne Parker is a clinical hypnotherapist who runs Yvonne Parker Hypnotherapy, based in Swindon. Yvonne helps her clients by providing them with support to feel happier, calmer, and more confident within their lives.

This allows them to resolve and process their emotions and feelings, and by going through the therapy process, they get enlightenment and a better understanding about themselves. She does this by using a blend of techniques including Hypnosis, EFT, EMDR, NLP, Talking Therapy, Past Life Regression.

With all the bank holidays we have had in May you may feel more stressed and under pressure at work or in your life, through a lack of time, so I would like to share 10 wellbeing tips to help you manage any stress and overwhelm during this time.

1. Stop and take a pause.

When we stop and take time to process our thoughts, feelings, and emotions we are then able to process how we are feeling and take the appropriate action or respond in a better way.

2. Breathe in and out slowly for 5-10 minutes.

This will increase oxygen to your brain and will naturally lower your heart rate to help you feel calmer.  You can breathe in and out to the count of 4 or 6 to help you do this.

3. Do some EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), also known as tapping.

You can tap for 5-10 minutes anytime required.  This will allow you to change the state of how you are feeling.  Tapping uses the meridian energy points in your body to assist you. If you would like to try this for yourself, you can follow along with a video from YouTube and learn how to do this, search for EFT.

4. Journal and write your thoughts out on to paper.

When we can get our thoughts out of our head, this allows us to feel less cluttered in our thinking and can very often lead to a lightbulb moment of thinking and give us clarity of our thoughts.

5. Go out into fresh air and nature.

Walking, sitting on a bench or on the grass, having a picnic, going for a run.  We thrive when we are in the fresh air, and we are also topping up our vitamin D with natural light at the same time.

6. Take time out.

It is important to rest and recharge both your body and your mind, when we are constantly pushing ourselves, we eventually grind to a halt and potentially get burn out.  It is important to put your own boundaries in place and stick to them.

Set your hours, take a lunch break, move around.

7. Eating regularly

When we feed ourselves with the right fuel we can operate more efficiently.

8. Improve your sleep pattern and cycle.

Go to bed when you are tired, introduce a good sleep routine. Switch off your devices to have that wind down time, this allows your mind to switch off.  You will operate more effectively.

9. Learn to recognise what is within your control.

When we start to recognise and learn what is within our own circle of control and what is out of our control, we can allow ourselves to concentrate on what we have an impact over. This skill is invaluable.

10. Notice what your triggers are.

Take time to notice what or who may be triggering you.

Notice your reaction, make any changes you can to alter this.
