Paul Day of Filestream Systems Ltd is looking forward to Quarter 4 of 2023!

We’re halfway through October already! It’s Q4 and one of the key business moments is, of course, Halloween (or at last for some businesses).

Today we’re talking to Paul Day who is a Technical Director at Filestream Systems Ltd based in Wokingham. Filestream Systems Ltd is a secure document management software that enables you to access your documents securely from anywhere in the world and supports you in avoiding GDPR breaches.

What’s coming up for your business in Q4?
November is an exciting month as I will be celebrating 28 years with Filestream! It’s hard to believe I started as the delivery boy and now I’m Technical Director.

Are you doing anything in October for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
At the beginning of the month I had the pleasure of attending The 15th Birthday Bash hosted by Fiona Scott and Lis McDermott. They celebrated 15 years in business whilst raising money for charity. I got to catch up with the wonderful Louise and Chris Hunt Skelley and meet Paul Martin who was the auctioneer and Master of the Raffle for the evening.

Some ‘quirky’ moments this month are:

*World Handbag Day – Oct 10
*Do Something Nice Day – Oct 5
*Apple Day – Oct 21 
*Pumpkin Day – Oct 26 

I don’t really celebrate any of the quirky moments. I try to make sure that I do something nice on a regular basis as opposed to just one day because I think we never know what someone could be going through so if you can do something nice for them, even if it’s just a smile or a “hello”, then we should do so.

Clocks go back this month and we get an extra hour in bed. How do you see ‘time’ in your business?
We’re so busy at Filestream right now, supporting people with their document security and GDPR compliance, that I need more hours in the day!

And finally, tell us one thing you love about the autumn/winter months?  
Autumn and Winter are my favourite seasons. I love the colours of the trees and walking the dog shuffling for leaves as I go in the Autumn and when Winter hits I know it will soon be Santa time, where I dress up as Father Christmas to visit childrens groups and make them smile!
