November Talk with Brenda and Joanne Savill

The end of November is already in sight and Q4 is well under way. What's been going on for you in your business or life? Today we're talking to Brenda and Joanne Savill who are directors of Lighting Bug Swindon. Their lighting showroom is based in Westmead Industrial Estate, Swindon, and they specialise in a variety of interior and exterior lighting, supplying to both the public and trade.

What’s a recent business highlight for you?
We hope our highlight for November will be the reopening of the Meadway… if not, it will be our exciting new Christmas ranges and displays! 

And what about a personal highlight this month?
Celebrating our son’s 8th birthday at Ninja Warrior!

This is a month for Bonfire Night do you celebrate this event?
We went as a family to watch Highworth’s firework display, a very spectacular event. 

Are you doing anything in November for charity or for a community or volunteer project? 
We support the RNLI and we do it around our lights!

At Lighting Bug, we are proud to say our lighting displays use LED lamps, wherever possible, to be as energy efficient as we can. This results in us having a surplus of ex display lamps. We do not like the idea of them going to landfill when they still work. 

We have boxes of ex display lamps, should you require an incandescent or energy efficient type. All we ask is for a suggested donation of 50p per lamp, which will go to our chosen charity, the RNLI. 

November 13 was World Kindness Day – has anyone shown kindness to you in the last month or so?  
I’m blessed to have many kind friends and work colleagues, but on the 13th November, one of my close friends offered to have my son. This meant I could catch up with housework, which many working parents can relate to. This was greatly appreciated! 

It’s Black Friday this week, which is now quite mainstream – do you participate in this within your business
Lighting Bug is not planning to run any Black Friday offers. 

We have many items currently in our Clearance Sale and more will be added in our planned Winter/January Sale. 

Our current sale has many stylish items, including ceiling, wall, table and floor lamps.
