Autumn Talk with Anil Bahan of Future Planning Wealth Management
It’s the end of October and the weather has become colder, Halloween is almost here, Diwali has started and will last for five days and soon the clocks will go back and we’ll get an extra hour in bed.
Today we’re talking to Anil Bahan who is an independent financial planner with Future Planning Wealth Management. Anil is based in Swindon and provides his clients with impartial financial advice by helping them to understand what they want and how to achieve it through detailed planning and looking at their pensions, investments and mortgages.
What’s coming up for your business/organisation in Q4?
The October ‘Halloween’ budget announcement from Kwasi Kwarteng was an important one for my industry as it affected the clients that we have and businesses that we support.
October represents several awareness months. Are there any that are important to you?
These are very important to me, I regularly contribute to charities, which includes cancer research and I believe awareness days improve society and allow us to appreciate and learn about history and culture.
Are you doing anything in October for charity or for a community or volunteer project?
We (my immediate family) are planning on volunteering to help serve food to the homeless at Christmas. I am also planning to visit an animal sanctuary before the end of this year and provide help.
Did you know that October 10 was World Mental Health Day – how important is this subject in your business and in your life? Why:
I have been lucky to work with some incredible people (clients and colleagues). I enjoy getting to know clients on a friendship level and seeing those prosper from difficult scenarios.
I believe it is important to reach out to family and friends, even if it is a random call to check how they are.
What practical activities do you participate in at home or at work to protect your mental health and that of your staff?
I like to do a number of different things including:
- Spending time with family and friends.
- I have a dog and I believe pets are one of the best depression remedies.
- Visiting the gym.
- Watching sports.
- Catching up with colleagues, including team building exercises.
- Setting smart goals.
The clocks go back this weekend and an extra hour in bed. How do you feel about the darker nights etc?
Other than the rain I am okay with the weather since the scorching summer!
Have you got any other news you’d like to shout about?
I have a number of things I’d love to shout about:
- I attained chartered status this year.
- I have received a certificate of excellence for 2022 from Vouched For (a review site for professionals)
- Vouched For rated me as a top adviser for 2022.
- I have a 5/5 rating off 68 client reviews on Vouched For.
Have you got any services or special offers you’d like to mention?
We offer a free one-hour consultation to anyone who would like to look at their finances and want to see how we can help.
And finally, tell us one thing you love about the autumn/winter months?
I love the Cozy nights, lots of football, Christmas, and lots of food.
