April Talk with Kyle Raffo

It’s April, the second month of Spring and we all hope you had a fantastic Easter break. We’re catching up with some business owners this month to see how things are looking for them during April. Today we're talking to Kyle Raffo who is a director at Embello which is one of the UK’s #1 printing, promotional merchandise and branded workwear specialists. The company is based in the Midlands but has customers all over the UK.

How is April looking for you in your business? 
It’s a big month here at Embello! We’ve got four new staff members joining the team and will be making the move into our brand-new offices. So as you can see it's going to continue to be very, very busy. 

Are you taking part in any wider events or business collaborations this month? 
Plans are underway for our ‘Big Spring Bash’ to celebrate the official opening of our new offices. It’s a huge celebration for us as these purpose-built offices and production space is nearly six times larger than those we currently work from.

I'm so proud that we're in a position to expand and grow the business. 

This month it’s Stress Awareness Month, what does stress mean to you? 
As a business we recognise that, when you become overwhelmed, stress can have a hugely detrimental impact on both mental and physical wellbeing as well as job satisfaction.

That’s why we offer both mental and physical health benefits when you join Team Embello. From open communication to flexible work schedules, we are committed to eliminating stress within the team. 

Also personally, I'm aware of stress and have had a 'burn out' experience myself some years ago so I take my own mental health very seriously. I take time out and make time to do things I enjoy.

Did you know that April 28 is Pay It Forward Day? Who could you ‘pay it forward’ to? 
As a business owner giving back is an ethos I embrace. Embello is often involved in projects which support local charities and community groups. Indeed we've got a new one we're about to launch to help a local charity or not for profit (watch this space to find out more). 
I'm always so grateful when someone is lovely to me personally and, as I'm also a qualified paramedic and I do at least one shift per week in the Midlands, I see kindness on a daily basis. It's an under-rated thing 'kindness' yet a kind word at the worst of times makes a huge difference.
