TGT MEETS... Josh Kirk
We caught up with Josh Kirk, who is taking over the Total Guide to Manchester franchise, getting to know the new Managing Director and learn who he would love to work with!
Let us know your name and a little bit about yourself.
My name is Josh Kirk and I am delighted to be the new Total Guide to Manchester Managing Director! Firstly, I just want to say how excited I am to join the Total Guide to family! A quick bit about myself, I'll try not to ramble on! I'm a Business, Marketing and Advertising graduate and have spent most of my working life in the marketing sector. I previously ran the marketing for Oxfordshire Cricket Board, being a big cricket and sports fan (something you will find out quickly if you meet me), it was a fantastic role for me. I have also spent time in sales & business support for Home Instead Senior Care and a number of years in retail-based customer facing roles before starting this new, exciting challenge with Total Guide to Manchester.
What made you want to set up a Total Guide to Franchise?
With my brother Toby already working for Team Total, I began to learn about the brand and the fantastic work being done across the sites. Once speaking to Liz about the opportunities at Total Guide to I was really excited to learn about her plan to franchise the business. I thought it was a fantastic brand who really cared about their clients, offering them amazing support and most importantly delivering results that left the clients thrilled and achieving their own business goals. I wanted to be a part of that positive experience for many more companies and my background has set me up to ensure we deliver the same high standards and results.
Whilst at University I made a lot of friends in and around Manchester so have been fortunate enough to spend a lot of time in the area and I came to absolutely love the city and the people. There is always so much going on, whether it be the range of fantastic restaurants to visit, watching some of the country's best sports teams or just taking in the sights. It soon became my favourite city to visit and when the opportunity came along to run a Total Guide to franchise and in Manchester of all places, it was the perfect match for me.
What are you most looking forward to in your new venture?
I'm really excited to work with a wide variety of companies, in a city I love. Being a massive people person, building relationships on a personal level with businesses is something I'm going to thoroughly enjoy, I want to gain an understanding of their business and help them succeed. I just find that working in a people facing role is incredibly satisfying!
Are there any businesses in Manchester you’d particularly like to work with?
I mentioned earlier I'm a huge fan of sport so that might be a bit of a giveaway! With that in mind, there is of course a brilliant selection of sports teams across the city who I would love to work with. My other passion is live music and stage shows, I hope to have the opportunity to work with the range of exciting venues across the city, no matter whether it's your local cosy pub hosting open mic nights or a large theatre with expansive shows.
What skills do you have that you think will make Total Guide to Manchester a success?
I'm a really driven and passionate individual, I think my work ethic and ability to understand a brands message, tone and goals will help me deliver results for all of my clients.
When will Total Guide to Manchester officially be unveiled?
Keep your eyes peeled as you can expect an announcement within the next couple of months! I can't wait!
