Stephanie Nunley, of Bower and Bailey solicitors, shares how March has been for the company!

It’s March! The first month of Spring and the month the clocks go forward this month so it will be lighter nights and less time asleep! It was also the Budget this month! What does the world of business look like this week?

Today we’re talking to Stephanie Nunley who is a solicitor and business development manager with Bower Bailey Solicitors based in Swindon.

How was March for you in your business?
Spring always sparks increased activities as our clients become more active in ensuring their personal affairs are in order and driving forward their all-important business plans. We pride ourselves on providing excellent service and we’re always ready to understand how we can help.
We are extremely busy. We have a new joiner in March and that always generates excitement in the office.

Are you taking part in any wider events or business collaborations this month?
Yes. Bower Bailey are long-time sponsors of the ‘Swindon Recital Series’ at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon. See: swindonrecitalseries.org

Bower Bailey also help support the Swindon Youth Festival of Literature which is now in its 17th year and we are looking forward to this year’s events See: swindonyfl.co.uk

The Budget took place on March 6. What did you think of it?
We always keep a keen eye on the budget as it can drive market trends which are clients are alive to. This budget may be instrumental depending on what’s announced prior to the long-awaited general election.

This month it’s International Women’s Day, St David’s Day, National No Smoking Day. Are there an awareness day or week this month which is important to you or your business?
International Women’s Day has always been close to my heart. I was one of two founding members of the Bristol Division of the Association of Women Solicitors now Women Lawyers Division. We always celebrated International Women’s Day even before it was high profile. I think it’s very important to celebrate the role that women play in our society and in the profession.

A couple of my colleagues enjoyed celebrating IWD by attending various events in Swindon and Wiltshire.

Is it your birthday this month? If so what will you being doing to celebrate?
Yes! It is my birthday towards the end of this month. I like to enjoy several different events with close family and friends. I do like a good celebration. I particularly enjoy the theatre and cinema. I will be enjoying some birthday cake. Who doesn't like cake?

Is it your business’s birthday this month or an anniversary of any kind? Will you being marking it at all?
I will be celebrating 12 years at Bower Bailey this year. The firm celebrated 50 years last year and this year will mark 39 years of our Swindon office. So lots to celebrate.

Would you like to share your thoughts about your mother, a mother figure in your life or your life with a mother or as a mother?
I think that Mothers Day is a lovely celebration as it enables us to recognise the unsung heroines in our family and community. I think that it’s important to recognise the role that mothers play in society and our communities as a whole.

I am very fortunate to have been blessed with a wonderful mother for which I am very grateful. I also have two children of my own and a wonderful mother-in-law.

In the yearly cycle of your business – what do you expect during March?
Easter is very early this year and as always we expect to be very busy responding to the needs of our clients and making sure all their personal and business legal requirements are being met.

Have you got any special offers for March or April that you’d like to mention?
For clients of the Neuro Wellbeing Centre we will be waiving our fee for Will drafting for a donation to the Neuro Wellbeing Centre. For more information and to book a slot please contact Beth Gardner at the Neuro Wellbeing centre [email protected] or Reception on 01793 481 700 or email
