Question: How can the Microsoft IT Academy help my business?

What is the Microsoft IT Academy?

Green Labyrinth has launched the new Microsoft Academy in Royal Wootton Bassett in March 2015.  The Academy allows you to study Microsoft Office applications on courses specifically designed to explore all of their most useful features. You can either study as part of a group or via e-learning, and The Academy is supported by experienced and qualified tutors.

The courses offered are aimed at individuals and employees who are already using the software in a business environment. The courses are aimed at making best use of the applications, which will be good for CPD and ongoing support to improve IT performance, or to improve employability prospects for those who may be unemployed. 

The various courses available are detailed below but include such things as: Mail Merge, Spreadsheet functions and Presentation transitions and animations. These courses go beyond using the packages  to a basic standard by introducing other more advanced aspects, which you may not even have realised the software was capable of providing.  If you wish you can then pursue the course to exam/certification level – although this isn’t mandatory.

The Office Route

There are three levels

• Microsoft Office Specialist
• Microsoft Office Specialist - Expert
• Microsoft Office Specialist -Master

Learning Options

Tutored  - Classroom based at Green Labyrinth; the tutor will take the class through the required learning with an opportunity of revising at home via the main course workbook.  When you feel ready - book the test.

e-Learning – For the more experienced – those of you who use Office regularly but need to be given some tutoring online to learn any functions you need to pass the course.  There will be remote tutor support.

A 5-day tutored course on one of the following:

• Word 2013
• Excel 2013
• PowerPoint 2013

Pass any ONE of the above to be classed as a Microsoft Office Specialist

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) - Expert:

e-Learning (with remote tutor support) for any of the following:

• Word 2013 Part 1
• Word 2013 Part 2
• Excel 2013 Part 1
• Excel 2013 Part 2

Pass either Word or Excel (Part 1 and 2) to be classed as a Microsoft Office Specialist – Expert

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) - Master:

Choose ONE of the following Microsoft Tracks to be classed as a Microsoft Office Specialist – Master

PLUS ONE of the following:

•          Outlook 2013 (MOS level - eLearning)

•          Access 2013 (MOS level - eLearning)
