Tell us a little bit about yourself…

I’ve always been passionate about the Creative Industries and studied Graphic Design and Photography throughout my Higher Education. I actually ran a photographic studio in Windsor for a number of years after university, where I got to use my skills both in the studio and also in Marketing, which I am still very passionate about now.

I then took my first leap into the print industry, working for a brilliant, innovative family business, where I was introduced to print and what it could do. After relocating to Wiltshire in 2015 I stayed in print in a production role. Even then though, my creative ideas allowed me to grow into marketing, where I used all the knowledge and skills I had learnt to drive growth and was subsequently asked to join the Sales Team.

Learning about other sectors of print like Large Format and Promotional Merchandise was really key in my understanding of how all these elements can be used by clients, which grew my client base quickly. Only recently I was asked to join one of the UK’s most creative, forward-thinking print companies in Dayfold, who have introduced me to ways of using print I could only have dreamed of.

What three things do you love most about your job?

The creativity that our services, staff & facilities allow, how forward-thinking I can be when helping clients produce their products sustainably and also seeing my client's reactions when their jobs arrive!

What inspired you to start working at Dayfold Group?

I’ve known Dayfold for a while and have always admired their philosophy of working within a niche in the print market. The opportunity to chat with the MD opened up late in 2022 and after hearing the plans he had in the pipeline for the growth of the company I was sold!

What makes Dayfold Group different to any other printing company in Bath & Swindon?

Dayfold’s reputation within the print industry is around the creative side of the industry. We work with high-end stocks, create unique finishes (printing full colour over foil for example), produce stunning, premium print and market the use of print as one of the most powerful marketing mediums rather than as a commodity. Dayfold is industry leader in our drive around sustainability and how companies can fulfil their Carbon Promises with print too.

What services do you offer?

Dayfold are quite niche in that whilst we do produce full colour print, produce multi address mailings and work with clients on brochures and leaflets like other printers, the core products and services revolve around creative solutions to maximise the impact of print.

This can be through producing premium rigid boxes, using creative inks like fluorescents and whites on coloured stocks, utilising foiling, embossing and die cutting to create unique pieces of work.

We also work with perfume houses to not only produce their packaging but also have facilities onsite to fill supplied perfume bottles too! Not many printers that offer that service, I can tell you.

What 3 merchandise products would you recommend every business should invest in? 

Somewhat controversially, the first product I would say is business cards. Now a lot of people say that no one uses business cards anymore and that they are a bit archaic as a promotional product but I couldn’t disagree more with this! They are one of the first things I give new prospect and anyone that’s ever had a Dayfold business card in their hands will know that it sets the right first impression of what we are about. Double thickness, made with GF Smith paper, embossed and foiled. First words are normally “wow, that’s a nice card” which makes it memorable.

Second one, similarly to the business card would be a great Company Brochure. Whether it’s one that informs a prospect about your business or a catalogue that shows your products, if the design and quality of the print and finishing is right then you are most of the way there with your opportunity of securing the sale/business. Normally, brochures are sent out direct to customers so if the business card is the first impression you leave in person, the brochure is the first impression you leave when you’re not. As the saying goes “One chance to make a first impression”!

The last one would be a promotional product based around drinkware. Depending on what your approach is with giveaways, one of the most retained products in merchandising is drinks holders. Here at Dayfold we focus on supplying merchandise that ticks the eco conscious and sustainable elements of this market.
