Business West Offers FREE PR Workshops for Wiltshire Businesses in Association with THE PR Catalyst

In the last 6 years, Business West has helped educate and support over 22,000 businesses of all shapes and sizes in the West Country, from Gloucestershire down to Cornwall and from Bristol through to the edge of Wiltshire.

In Swindon, it has just strengthened its SME Growth Programme by appointing Rhona Jack of THE PR Catalyst to deliver free Public Relations workshops each month. The next half day PR Workshop is on Wed 18th October with just a few places remaining. Rhona is a member of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and has 25 years’ experience, including 9 years running her own award-winning agency, Blue Click PR Ltd., which had international clients with up to £520M turnover.

The free PR workshop for growing SMEs is entitled “How to Get Free Publicity For Your Business” and gives a thorough overview of the many types of PR activity, the benefits and realistic expectations. Delegates will gain useful insights into how they can integrate PR into their marketing strategy and it helps business owners focus on their key messages, which is a great foundation for better social media activity. Delegates receive plenty of hints and tips on how to draft a press release, where to send it, and how best to engage with busy editors and journalists too. For an overview of the course content see www.businesswest.co.uk/events/how-get-free-publicity-your-business-18-october-2017.

Business Growth Advisor Yesim Nicholson delivers Business West’s Marketing Workshops and she brought the new PR workshops on board. She says “Feedback from delegates has been really positive. Rhona uses her extensive experience to illustrate points and she generates lots of ideas for delegates too. It’s almost like a small group PR consultation.”

Rhona comments “When you run your own business, it’s not always easy getting your news story out. However, there’s no doubt that getting media coverage in newspapers, magazines, radio, TV and online will boost every company’s chances of success. My aim is to demystify PR and teach business owners techniques and methods to approach this with confidence. I’ve had some outstanding results for clients raising their profile, growing their turnover, winning global awards and even getting global TV coverage, so now it’s time to share what I’ve learned with others.”

The next two PR workshops are on Wed 18th October & Wed 22nd November 2017 at Park House, near Faringdon Park, Swindon, SN1 5ED. Thanks to grants from Wiltshire Council, Swindon Borough Council and The European Regional Development Fund, this business support is provided completely free of charge!

As just a few places remain on the October PR Workshop, business owners from Wiltshire can book straight onto it by calling 01275 370836 or emailing [email protected]. The EDRF SME Growth Project supports small, start-up and high-growth businesses across Swindon and Wiltshire. It offers 12 hours’ free business support in the form of education, training events, support or individual mentoring which is available in either Finance, Marketing, Online Marketing, Public Relations or Social Media. See www.businesswest.co.uk/services/swindon-and-wiltshire-sme-growth-programme for details.
