Black Nova Designs Celebrated Five Years in Business!

Family-run website agency and IT solutions provider Black Nova Designs celebrated its fifth business birthday in 2020!

Founder Kyle Holmes first incorporated the Wiltshire-based company back in 2012, as he felt passionately about providing an affordable solution to IT issues and he wanted, at some point, to make his vision a reality. The company lay dormant between 2012 and 2015, as he awaited the right time to start building his dream while working elsewhere. 

Kyle’s passion for website design and IT started out as a hobby; as a side hustle, a part time job in the evenings helping out friends and family to become more confident with their websites and tech. It was born at a time when tech was becoming more and more central to all of our lives, both at home and professionally. Kyle is a tech geek, often referred to by his team and clients as ‘the font of all knowledge’. He started building PCs at just 8 years old and became an avid gamer, a pastime he still enjoys to this day. 

Danielle was introduced to the company in 2015 and at that time had little IT or web experience however her wealth of knowledge in accounts and customer services made her a perfect fit for the growing business. In fact, Danielle’s initial lack of IT experience was an asset, ensuring Kyle didn’t get lost in ‘tech speak’ and allowing her to see how confusing it could all be for clients. In 2017 Kyle and his wife Danielle found themselves in a position where their full-time corporate roles no longer held an appeal for them, and they committed themselves fully to Black Nova Designs.

Now, Danielle really knows her stuff, in particular navigating WordPress websites. As she says, it’s like riding a bike - once you’ve done it enough it is like second nature, and you can do it without even thinking about it! Crucially, Danielle still understands how it can feel for new clients who have no IT or website expertise and is on hand to translate for Kyle when needed. 

As we head towards the end of 2020, Black Nova Designs is proud to employ 5 members of staff and 2 contactors, all working parents with a passion for helping others with IT. The company hired their latest team member during the Covid-19 lockdown. This has allowed them to ensure they were still leading the way in customer service, whilst dealing with the increase in demand for affordable and responsive technology during this period. 

Black Nova Designs offers holistic IT and website design services, allowing clients to effectively ‘pick and mix’ according to their needs and budget.
