Ask the Experts: Business Smartphones
Question: I'm slightly underwhelmed with the business benefits that the iPhone offers. Which smartphone range will be best for my professional needs?
Powered by Windows Phone 8, the Nokia Lumia brings together all elements of your business and personal life in a hub thats already built into the handset.
Microsoft office applications to allow the user easy access to business documents and keeps them up to date with tasks. The hub can also get to files stored on SkyDrive and Office 365 as well as files kept locally on the Nokia device separated by Live tiles. These display all hubs containing organised files and lets you know when things change such as emails and calendar notifications, all relevant to business. A ‘Me’ section shows all your social media too.
Sky Drive is one of the phone's best features as it saves documents within the Cloud, plus it’s accessible from any device, anywhere, at any time. It allows you to share, edit and store files, in all your familiar Microsoft Office formats.
HERE Maps are great if you're out and about especially if you want to know where to take an important client for a business lunch. Augmented reality on your current location through City Lens will find the best places to go and the ways to get there. HERE Drive and HERE Transit are brilliant too, sat nav for all your drivers and public transport information for the commuters.
For those of you looking for a new challenge, try JobLens, and interactive map that shows you the location of jobs available wherever you are. We're afraid the only drawback is that it doesn't make the tea.....yet.
