Rossiter calls for a dominant Robins showing vs Lakeside
Swindon boss Alun Rossiter has called on them to reassert their home dominance when they host Lakeside in a crucial encounter at the Abbey on Thursday - race tapes up at 7.30.
After a 12-day break from the track, the M&S Van Rental Robins will face two pivotal clashes with the Hammers in the space of two days.
The two play-off hopefuls will do battle in Wiltshire on Thursday before the return fixture at the Arena-Essex Raceway on Friday - 8pm race tapes up.
Rossiter knows it is vital for his side to bounce back from successive home defeats in the first meeting as they look to consolidate their position in the Elite League top four.
Said Rossiter: “Clearly our home record so far this season is something of a concern, it’s unusual for Swindon teams to be beaten around the Abbey and we are desperate to get back to winning ways at home.
“We respect Lakeside as we do with all visiting teams, and obviously they have kept going at the top so far this season.
“We can’t keep relying on winning away matches, we’ve got to start doing a lot better at Swindon. That said, I am fairly happy with where we are halfway through the season - we’re still in a good position and we need to make sure we stay there.”
The Robins look set to be at full strength, although Aussie ace Nick Morris will undergo a late fitness test on an ankle injury sustained at Leicester last time out.
Meanwhile, Lakeside operate rider replacement for Kim Nilsson, who is riding in Sweden, in the No.5 spot.
