Rosco talks King's Lynn victory and rider changes going forward

An action-packed night of Speedway at the Abbey Stadium on Thursday evening saw the Swindon Robins earn a had fought 52-38 victory over the King’s Lynn Stars. Total Sport’s Ryan Walker was trackside to get the reaction of Robins manager Alun Rossiter.

Speaking in the aftermath of his sides victory, Rossiter was positive but said it was a difficult night of racing for both sides.

“It didn’t go entirely to plan tonight.” Rossiter began.

“We’ve had some new shale laid down and it chopped up quite badly affecting our boys a bit more than theirs.

“Once we had a couple of grades they got back into the swing of things and deserve the victory," he said.

With four heats gone on the night it was looking like another home defeat for the Swindon Robins as the away side led by eight points with a score of 8 – 16. And Rossiter said he was a bit shocked at his sides start.

“ It was a very important meeting tonight and I was a little bit shocked with how things started," stated Rossiter.

“I knew we had the beating of them but when the track started to cut I was a little bit worried.

“We are at such a crucial time of the season and we need to just keep taking each meeting as it comes.

“We need to get four points away at Coventry on Monday and if we can do that it will give us a massive help," added Rossiter.

Putting in a dominant performance away to the Coventry Bees back in May shows that the Swindon Robins are more than capable of picking up the away points at Brandon Stadium. And Rossiter will be hoping for more of the same from his side on Monday evening.

“We always seem to go well round Coventry but we can’t take anything for granted," explained Rossiter.

“We will be confident going there and hopeful of picking up all four points.

“But we can’t take it for granted," he added.

A frustrating night for Captain Jason Doyle saw the Robins number one ride to seven points and Alun Rossiter agreed that his sides victory proves they are not just a one man team.

“All the boys came to the party and I’m really pleased for Rohan Tungate," admitted Rossiter.

“He’s taken a lot of stick from everybody at times this season and he has finally delivered the goods.

“I put him out in heat fifteen as he thoroughly deserved it and hopefully he can continue to push on from here," he said.

With a riders individual rolling averages allowing for riders to change position within the team this season, manager Rossiter confirmed that Josh Grajczonek would be back in a heat leader role for Justin Sedgmen.

“There will be a change after tonight I think," announced Rossiter.

“Sedgy [Justin Sedgmen] will move to second string and Josh [Grajczonek] will move back up to heat leader.

“ I’m not too worried about it and am confident the boys will continue to produce," he stated.
