Robins ready to give their all in huge King's Lynn clash

Swindon Robins boss Alun Rossiter knows his side need a win to keep their play-off hopes alive as they host King’s Lynn in a huge clash at the Abbey on Thursday, race tapes up at 7.30pm.

The M&S Van Rental Robins saw their top four ambitions dealt a major blow with three successive defeats before the Speedway World Cup break.

However, they remain fourth in the Elite League table as they aim to get back on track against an in-form Stars side.

Rossiter knows victory is paramount with the Stars looking to keep their own top four chances alive – but he is confident they can come out on top.

“We’ve had a couple of weeks off because of the World Cup, and now it’s time to get going again and find some consistent form,” Rossiter said.

“I really don’t like using the words ‘must-win’ but tonight’s match is very much one that we have to win, and the boys know how important the next few meetings are going to be.”

Swindon have drafted in Adam Roynon to guest for Stefan Nielsen, who remains sidelined with a thumb injury, whilst they will otherwise be at full strength.

Meanwhile, King’s Lynn include Lewis Kerr as a guest for the injured Simon Lambert, plus Danish ace Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen returns to their line-up at reserve.

The clash itself carries added significance as the Abbey will see the return of Aussie star Darcy Ward. The former Robins star will be spectating from the stands, making his first Blunsdon appearance since his horror crash guesting for Zielona Gora in August 2015.

SWINDON: Jason Doyle, Rohan Tungate, Nick Morris, Josh Grajczonek, Justin Sedgmen, Charles Wright, Adam Roynon.

KING’S LYNN: Niels-Kristian Iversen, Lewis Kerr, Robert Lambert, Rory Schlein, Troy Batchelor, Nikolaj Busk Jakobsen, Lewis Rose.
