REVIEW: Marriott Hotel's Al a Carte Menu

On Friday the 8th I was kindly invited along to the Marriott Hotel’s Cast Iron Bar and Grill restaurant. I invited my mother to join me, and both being massive food lovers we were both extremely delighted to experience their Al a Carte menu.

Upon arrival the staff were extremely helpful and polite as they showed us to the restaurant. Once we were seated at our table of choice, we were given the extensive Al a Carte menu and their divine drinks list which had an array of alcoholic Cocktails, Mocktails, Wine and soft drinks. I tried their mouth-watering Mudslide cocktail which included Kahlua, Absolut Vodka, Irish Cream and Milk and it was heavenly!

To start with I had the Crispy Squid with Chorizo which was presented in a traditional Spanish style skillet which was served with a beautifully, fresh Lemon Mayonnaise that complimented the dish perfectly! My mum enjoyed the Grilled Asparagus with Crispy Egg which was cooked just right and was absolutely delicious.

Next, mains which was an incredibly difficult situation because there was so many delightful dishes to choose from. Considering they pride themselves on their steaks we thought it would be only right to try one, therefore my mum decided to go for their 8oz 30 day aged Sirlon Steak which was served with cripsy, golden thick Chips and a gorgeous homemade Cast Iron Butter.

The steak came with a selection of sauces such as; Peppercorn, Red Wine, Blue Cheese or Bearnaise. My mum chose her favourite, Bearnaise, which she described as the best Bearnaise sauce she has had in a long time. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection and was seasoned beautifully. Our waitress Fatima was highly knowledgable on the fantastic wines they offer which was evident when she recommended a glass of the Spanish red wine, Guv'nor which paired spectacularly with the Sirlion Steak, it was a beautiful choice!

The Cast Iron Beef Burger which came with crispy bacon, cheddar cheese and a smokey chipotle sauce with skin on Chips caught my eye and it definitely didn't disappoint! Fatima was so attentive to our every need especially to me being slightly fussy and asking for the burger without cheese.

Finally dessert! We were incredibly full by the time we reached this point but we really couldn't resist taking a look at the dessert menu which instantly persuaded us to try the Vanilla Cheesecake with Toffee sauce. It was insane! The toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream complimented the cheesecake brilliantly, it really was the perfect choice!

Overall, the food was absolutely exquisite and never disappointed! Our waitress was so friendly and made excellent conversation and was incredibly attentive to all our needs. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so calm and relaxing with every staff member being incredibly smiley and helpful. We will certainly be returning for another meal here very soon!
