Rays Ice Cream launches new, temporary, home delivery service
Rays Ice Cream has launched a new, temporary, home delivery service for anyone living within a 15 minute drive of either of their shops in Royal Wootton Bassett and in Old Town Swindon. The service is in response to the Covid-19 outbreak and is designed both to help those who are self-isolating and to maintain sufficient sales to enable the business to keep going.
‘Our shops remain open, although we have made some changes such as installing hand wash stations and making them takeaway only’ said owner, Hadi Brooks. ‘But we’re aware that many people will be self-isolating, or sick and therefore will have to stay away. They may still want ice cream and we would certainly still appreciate their business. This should be the start of our busy period and we’ve still got staff, rent and plenty of other bills to pay so we thought launching a home delivery service would help, both ourselves and the people who can’t leave their homes.’
Orders for home delivery will be placed through their website, www.RaysIceCream.co.uk, to which they have added new options for take home tubs and bundles of items. Customers will be contacted to arrange a mutually convenient delivery slot in the few days after the order is placed.
Both of Rays Ice Cream shops remain open, takeaway only, and sell home made ice cream which they make themselves in a huge variety of flavours. They use their home made ice cream to make ice cream cakes and delicious think milk shakes. They also serve waffles, fresh coffee and luxury hot chocolates. Their ice cream is available wholesale to other businesses including local foodie pubs, hotels and dessert shops.
