Snapped: New College A Level Results Day 2018

This morning (16th August), students across the country received their A Level results. The overall A Level pass rate of 97% for students at New College Swindon called for a celebration! Check out our snaps below...

Headline statistics:

• 97% overall A Level pass rate (16-18 students)
• 192 students sat A Levels in English and Maths– 97% pass rate
• 132 entries for Biology, Chemistry and Physics – 99% pass rate
• 192 BTEC exam entries – 58% gained Distinction grades (up from 39% last year)
• 28 subjects with 100% pass rate
• 466 A*-B grades achieved at A Level

The pass rate has increased by 1% from last year and improvements follow through to the number of grades at A*-B, with a 4.3% increase from last year. Over 40% of all grades achieved were A*-B this year. New College has the largest number of A Level learners in Swindon and Wiltshire and this year there were 1,119 successful exam entries.

These pass rates indicate that, once again, New College students have made great achievements. The 97% pass rate will stand students in good stead for a bright future and make them stand out in the competition for jobs and university places.
