Swindon Town will only listen to "silly" offers for goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux

Swindon Town chairman Lee Power has said that the club will only let goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux leave the club if a "silly" offer comes in for him.

Although Swindon were relegated to League Two this season, goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux scooped up a number of player-of-the-season awards and was lauded by supporters for his good work in the Town goal.

Vifgouroux initially joined the club on loan from Liverpool in the summer of 2015, but made that move permanent on July 1 last year for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £400,000.

The contract of the Chilean does not expire until 2019, so Swindon will not be losing the 23-year-old for nothing anytime soon and, when asked whether he thinks Vigouroux will be around when the 2017-18 season kicks off, Power replied:

"I do, yeah. Like anything, if someone comes up with a silly offer then we'd have to listen but any fee that we get Liverpool will recieve a huge sell-on (fee) so it'd have to be something ridiculous for it to make a difference to us.

"That won't neccessarily be down to me. When the new manager comes in, he will decide on and then we'll take it from there."

Power did not indicate how much of a percentage of any potential Vigouroux fee Liverpool are entitled to.

Meanwhile, Vigouroux's goalkeeper coach, Dean Thornton, will remain at Swindon Town, despite first-team coach Ross Embleton and sports scientist Mike Cooper leaving the club.

"Dean's under contract, obviously he works with the academy as well. Regarding Ross and Michael, that was an area we fell short as well and obviously we had to make changes there.

"It's left a blank canvas for the new guy to come in and do whatever he needs to do to get us out of this division."
