PLAYER RATINGS: Swindon Town 1-2 Coventry City

Swindon Town went down to their third defeat in four home games on Tuesday night and Benjamin Wills has rated the men in red.

Lawrence Vigouroux: Swindon's keeper, not for the first time, had little chance in saving either of Coventry's goals - 6

Ben Purkiss: Town's right back did suffiently well against the Coventry attack, but was still involved in a defence that was, on the whole, shaky - 4

Olly Lancashire: Swindon's captain was as culpable as anyone in that opening 20 minutes where the Robins were all over the place. Recovered somewhat later on - 4

Chris Robertson: Definitely should have been sent off as early as the third minute, and on another day he would have given a second penalty away as well - 2

Matty Taylor: For the majority, he was given a torrid time by Coventry's superstar Jodi Jones. Hit a decent free-kick just wide in the first half - 4

Timi Elsnik (replaced by Amine Linganzi '66): Largely subdued for the 66 minutes he was on the pitch. Both of his attempts on goal were deflected over and blocked by his own player respectively - 5

James Dunne: Sent off with just under 20 minutes to go for an apparent push in the face of Michael Doyle, was ok in midfield before that but his potential lack of control cost Town - 4

Paul Mullin (replaced by Donal McDermott '59): Another energetic performance from Mullin and he had a decent effort on goal late in the first half, but he and Town fans wanted and needed a bit more - 4

Keshi Anderson: A lot of hustle and bustle from Anderson, who was Swindon's main threat in front of goal, without much success - 6

Kellan Gordon (replaced by Harry Smith '81): The Derby loanee offered a number of decent crosses from the right and was involved in the build-up to Swindon's goal - 6

Luke Norris: Scored one of the goals of his life to give Swindon the lead but was subdued after that - 5

Substitutes:

Donal McDermott: Never really got a foothold in the game he played just over 30 minutes in, a couple of semi-decent crosses into the box and a late shot wide was just about it -

Amine Linganzi: Had the job of controlling Swindon's midfield when he replaced the attack-minded Elsnik, which became harder when Dunne got sent off. A dreadful back header almost gifted Coventry a third -

Harry Smith: A good cameo appearance from Smith who offered Swindon a different option and somehow was denied a penalty when he was clearly shoved in the box in added time -
