"Nothing worries" David Flitcroft when it comes to the Swindon Town gelling process

Swindon Town manager David Flitcroft insists nothing worries him when it comes to knitting his squad together ahead of the upcoming season.

The Robins are in the process of a complete overhaul of the squad this summer as 17 senior players have left the club over the last two months, whether that be via the end of their loan or the expiration of their contracts.

It left Swindon with just 10 contracted players, but boss Flitcroft has been quick to mould the squad in his image, having aquired seven new players already, while a further five are currently on trial at the County Ground.

Given the dramatic nature of the turnover of players, there could be some concern on whether the new faces that have already arrived, as well as future additions, will be able to gel together in time, but Flitcroft said he has no concerns in this regard.

Speaking to Total Sport at the end of the 7-1 win over Swindon Supermarine, Flitcroft said:

"Nothing worries me. We're in front of ourselves, in terms of the gelling and the knitting together, we're really in front of ourselves, I've been delighted with that as a group of lads.

"When you get positive people, there's just a great energy. It's only the negativity in and around the town that I've got to get rid of and get out of my environment.

"I don't have negative people anywhere near me, I can't stand negativity, it drives me insane.

"We're not here long enough, we don't have enough time to be negative so I surround myself with positive people."
