May makes it two for Swindon

SWINDON TOWN has made their second signing of the summer as Adam May joins the club on a season-long loan deal from League One Portsmouth.

STFC manager Richie Wellens has wasted no time in the summer transfer window after today securing his second signing of the summer with the acquisition of central midfielder Adam May from Portsmouth. 

Joining Portsmouth in 2014, 21-year-old May has endured a turbulent career so far with his move to Swindon marking a fourth consecutive loan deal since arriving at his parent club, having had previous spells at Sutton United, Aldershot Town, and Gosport. 

A central midfielder by trade, Adam May is yet to prove himself at the top level with his only professional league appearances coming in League One when he made 13 appearances for Portsmouth during the 17/18 season.

His arrival at SN1 sees May join the likes of Michael Doughty, Toumani Diagouraga, Scott Twine, and Danny Rose amongst others in the central midfield positions, and it will be interesting to see how Swindon’s latest recruit fits into manager Richie Wellens’ plans. 

Speaking to the club website following the move, May said: 

“I can’t wait to get started. Obviously, it’s a great club and, after speaking to the Gaffer I can only be positive for the season so I’m really looking forward to it.

“He’s told me the way he wants to play next season and I think that will suit me. I felt it was time to have a loan and hopefully I can show what I can do here,” he said.
