Ahead Swindon Designer Outlet's Summer Holiday Make-Up and Style Event, we spoke to Kate Evans, Image Consultant about Summer Style dos and don'ts, and what we can expect from the event!

For those that don't know, who are you and what do you do?
I am an Image Consultant and Life Coach. I work with private individuals as well as companies and their employees, helping them to dress and be the best at their job that they can be.

What led you to being an Image Consultant?
I had my “colours done” and found it utterly transforming! It was so useful to be able to walk into a shop and know immediately what to start looking at (according to the colour) and what I could ignore.

Who is your fashion inspiration?
I think Amal Clooney dresses beautifully and I am also a big fan of fashion blogger, Lucy Williams. She has the illusive “effortless style”.

If you could choose three Summer style essentials, what would they be and why?
For myself: Maxi dress, flip flops and a white broderie anglaise top.
Generally: A pair of wedge espadrilles, a dress you can easily dress up and down, and a cropped jacket to wear with waisted dresses or skirts.

Are there any real Summer fashion no-nos?
Yes - I LOATH linen trousers, they rarely look good on anyone! Creasing all in the wrong places!

What's the most rewarding part of your job?
I LOVE what I do, whether I am coaching or helping people with their style my services help people to feel good about themselves and increases their confidence.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love antiques fairs, cooking, photography, and gardening.

What can people expect from the Make Up and Style Event?
Real advice, that is based on real knowledge on how to pack for your holidays as well as inspiration on what summer styles will work for you. Bring along a problem item from your wardrobe for my advice as to how to make it work for you.

How key is the relationship between style and a particular make-up look?
It is so important! There is no point spending ages on your outfit and getting the colour/style right if you then wear makeup that is wrong for you. It is a partnership.
