Tried & Tested: The Royale Beautique

A few weeks back we sent beauty blogger Emily Griffin to The Royale Beautique in Royal Wootton Bassett to experience their wonderful September eyelash offer. Here's what she thought:

Megan, my therapist greeted me with a warm and friendly smile as I entered the beautifully designed salon. I think first impressions are really important, especially when you are visiting a beauty salon. Feeling welcome and at ease is vital when you are meeting your therapist for the first time. Megan’s professional and friendly manor made me feel relaxed and in safe hands.

Megan gave me a tour of the salon and introduced me to one of the other therapist Carrie, who was hard at work on a manicure, and the lovely salon owner Kelly, before she saw her client. Inside the salon is immaculate and very stylish – exactly what you want from a beauty salon. They offer a wide range of treatments from Shellac manicures to waxing, tanning, facials and eyelash extensions. I was really impressed to see the variety of Shellac colours available and the wide range of Dermalogica treatments and products on display.

After my tour, Megan took me into my treatment room. Whilst she got me comfortable on the treatment table, she asked me a series of questions to establish what my expectations were for my new lashes. Megan really wanted me to be satisfied with my treatment and wanted to make sure I got the most out of it.

We discussed length and style of lashes; I opted for natural, full lashes. The salon offers several types of lash extensions. These include express, individual and strips lashes. For the look I wanted we decided on the individual lashes. For this treatment, single lashes are individually applied to each of your own lashes. (I will add here that I popped into the salon a week prior to my visit for a patch test. This is very important if you are having a treatment using any type of glue, or dye, to avoid any adverse reactions).

I have very fair hair, which means my lashes are also very fair. Megan recommended a lash tint to compliment the treatment as this would help achieve a fuller look. I was really impressed with Megan’s knowledge and the thorough way she explained each step of the treatment process.

Megan tinted both my top and bottom lashes and then applied the individual lashes. This is by no means a quick treatment, I felt lucky to have such a lovey therapist - as lying with your eyes shut for over an hour could have been a lot harder!

I was advised that the individual lashes would shed with my own natural lashes. Therefore touch ups would depend on my lash cycle. I was warned to keep away from products containing oil as this would dissolve the glue. I was pleased with the amount of detail Megan went in to - she really helped me to understand the importance of looking after my lashes.

After the treatment, when my eyes readjusted to the light, I was presented with a mirror. I was over the moon with the lashes. They were perfect, full and long. To my shock, I had been in the treatment room for an hour and a half and it only felt like 20 minutes! The eyelashes really made my eyes stand out. They looked bigger, brighter and more defined. Even the colour looked more vibrant. 

I was so delighted with the salon and the treatment I received from Megan. I’ve had my lashes for just over two weeks now and they still look great. I followed Megan’s advice and it really has paid off. Kelly, the salon owner, has built a brilliant team of highly trained and friendly therapists.  For an indulgent treatment, and wonderful staff, I would highly recommend The Royale Beautique Salon. They look after you every step of the way, to ensure you are comfortable and relaxed, whilst delivering outstanding results in a skilled and professional manor.
