Museums in Swindon

As a place with vast and unique heritage, it is almost a given that Swindon will be home to a number of museums and galleries.

STEAM 'The Museum of the Great Western Railway' is a museum which tells the story of the men and women who built, operated and travelled on the Great Western Railway. Videos, costumed figures plus reconstructed rooms and platforms bring the railway's story to life making for a first class day out!
