Snapped: Swindon Festival of Literature 2014 Highlights

Swindon Festival of Literature and its “thirteen days of literary frolics” was yet again an enormous success. With guests including Ann Widdecombe, Bee Wilson, John Carey and a park run and poetry slam, it is hardly surprising the popularity of the well-established event grows year on year. Here are our 'snapped highlights' of the 2014 festival:

Over the course of the festival, literature fans were able to enjoy a vast array of fantastic talks, workshops and readings.

With an energetic Park Run held at Lydiard Park, a creative poetry slam and talks from authors such as MP, and ex strictly star, Ann Widdecombe, Nick Cohen and Keith Hooper the event had something to suit all literary tastes. 

Children were not forgotten either; with a special Children and Families day of workshops held at Lower Shaw Farm - including drawing with Winnie the Witch illustrator Korky Paul, and an evening with the famous children’s author Jacqueline Wilson.

We thoroughly enjoyed this year’s festival and will look forward to seeing what 2015 has in store!
