Snapped: Sandford Street Advice and Support Centre Launch

A new facility, designed to provide assistance to those most in need, has opened in one of Swindon’s most historic buildings.

A former school house, which is more than 130-years-old has been transformed into a new advice and support Centre for residents in need of a helping hand. 

Managed by Voluntary Action Swindon, the facility will be an information hub for adult health, well-being and social care.

Local organisations housed in the new centre include the Citizens Advice Bureau, Shop-mobility and the Swindon Health Watch.

Ideally located in the town centre, it's thought that the organisations inside the building will benefit by being able to work together while also reducing building maintenance costs.

Funded by the now-defunct Primary Care Trust and the council, £350,000 has been invested in the project to make Sandford Street Advice and Support Centre a success.
