Snapped: Local and European Elections 2014

On Thursday 22nd May people from across Swindon headed to the polls to vote in the local and European elections.

Despite occasional spells of heavy rain, the bad weather didn't discourage people from attending local schools, community centres and churches to vote.

In Wiltshire the Conservatives increased their majority control of Swindon Council. The make up now stands as - Conservatives 30 seats, Labour 23 seats, Lib Deam four seats.

The count for the European elections will take place on Sunday night when Swindon’s contribution to the South West region will be revealed.
