Snapped: D Day Vet Bob Noody Visits Aldbourne
To commemorate D Day Aldbourne welcomed back its 101st Airborne veteran Bob Noody. It was Bob's first return to the village since 1944.
In 1943 Bob and the rest of 2nd Battalion arrived in Aldbourne where they lodged in nissen huts on what is now the football pitch.
During his stay Bob visited Aldbourne, Ramsbury, Littlecote House and Upottery Airfield, before heading to Normandy for the 70th anniversary of D-Day.
