Snapped: Battle of Britain Commemoration Event

On the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Britain, local organisations revealed the key role that Swindon will play in the national commemoration of this important milestone in the nation’s history, including a high-profile event in Swindon on September 15th. As part of the event the town will witness a spectacular flypast by the Spitfires and Hurricanes of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) on Battle of Britain Day itself. In a unique formation it will honour the 544 pilots of RAF Fighter Command who were killed in the battle.
