REVIEW: Review of The Wiltshire Hotel Beauty Spa & Afternoon Tea

We visited The Wiltshire Hotel situated on the outskirts of Royal Wootton Bassett, which is just 5 minutes from junction 16 of the M4, on Saturday to conduct a review of The Beauty and Spa facilities along with an Afternoon Tea.

Although it was a rainy October day I was surprised by the size and facilities at The Wiltshire hotel and the beautiful views of the countryside,  with golfers still out on the 27 hole golf course and a wedding party waiting in anticipation there was a lovely warm atmosphere.

What a lovely start to the day we received from Jade the lovely and welcoming senior therapist who was waiting for us at the reception area with towels and robes.

After a short tour of the facilities Jade welcomed us into The Beauty Salon. The salon was lit with beautiful candles and soft music and the ambiance instantly made us feel relaxed and calm. The decor and displays were lovely as you will see in the photos.

Although there was a lot going on in the hotel once in the treatment room there was complete silence and tranquility and a sense of calm.

Along with the luxurious treatment rooms which also houses a double couples treatment room, there is also a nail bar and hair salon making the perfect environment for wedding parties, celebrations or simply an occasion with loved ones and friends.

After changing into our robes we were taken into the treatment room for the first of two treatments. Jade was thoroughly professional and experienced in asking questions and ensuring that we were completely comfortable before starting the treatments.

First was the hot oil back, shoulder and neck massage. Jade used Dermologica products and used experienced techniques and pressure. It really was blissful and I could feel the stresses of the week lifting away.

The next treatment that followed on was the mini facial, again you could tell the therapists experience in her touch and technique and the lovely Dermologica products used. For this treatment, Jade used Special cleansing gel, daily micro-exfoliant, total eye cream, skin hydrating masque, and antioxidant hydra mist, finishing off with a skin smoothing cream and barrier defense booster. The products can also be purchased in the salon.

After the treatments we made our way into the 18 meter pool area along with a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi spa, and loungers and spent a further few hours relaxing and enjoying the facilities. There was no rush at all and we weren't tied to time.

After changing and feeling relaxed and rejuvenated we made our way to The tastefully and recently renovated Grey Heron Restaurant and Lounge Bar for Afternoon Tea which overlooks the beautiful golf course. The restaurant really does add a touch of contemporary elegance to the hotel.

Tea and coffee were served whilst we waited and the afternoon tea certainly did not disappoint.

The first layer was a selection of sandwiches - salmon, Wiltshire ham and mustard, cheese and pickle and egg. The second layer was beautifully fresh baked warm scones, jam and Cornish clotted cream with the top layer of lovely fresh Victoria sponge, fruit cake and fondant fancies. We were topped up with fresh tea and coffee throughout the afternoon.

The Afternoon tea was delicious and certainly plentiful for any appetite. The staff throughout the day were warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend The Wiltshire hotel and will certainly be returning. Thank you to Jade and all the team!
