New Swindon Half Has Official Race Date

The much-anticipated news of the date for the upcoming New Swindon Half 2017 has finally been announced - and we're giving away two FREE places!

Runners were left distraught when the long-running Swindon Half Marathon failed to go ahead in 2016 due to lack of funding. However, a new committee was quick off the blocks to save the event, and the New Swindon Half was born.

Liz Ledger from Total Swindon, Danny Clayton from DC Injury Clinic, Liam Dixon from Run Swindon and former winner Gary Clayton were consulted by Organiser Graeme Hardie from 113 events to make sure the New Swindon Half would be the biggest and best yest.

After a public consultation regarding a new route, and after final approval with the council, the new race will take place on Sunday 3rd September, with places available to book from 1st February.

The new route, below, has been met with overwhelming approval from runners of the old route, and people for whom the New Swindon Half will be their first attempt.
