Get your essentials in Swindon town centre in one trip

In line with the Government guidelines for Covid-19, non-essential businesses are closed in Swindon town centre. inSwindon BID would like to remind everyone to stay safe, to stay home and to only visit the town centre for essential needs.

If you do need to make an essential trip to the town centre, make that one trip count. Visit the bank or building society for your financial needs, the pharmacy for any medical requirements and then pick up your essential groceries in one visit.

The Swindon Town Centre website and social media channels, @inSwindon,  are regularly updated with the latest openings of essential businesses in the town centre. Below is a list of the current openings, but please check individual websites for times as these may vary.

Groceries and Essentials Goods: Sainsburys – Tesco – Iceland – M&S – Delikatesy Polski Szmaek – Boots – Superdrug – Wilko – Savers – Poundland - One Below – Holland & Barrett – Grape Tree – Pets Corner

Mark Rogers, Interim BID Manager for inSwindon BID commented: “As we look to be entering an extended lockdown period, we would like to remind people that if you do come into the town centre that it should be for essential needs only. Businesses in the town centre are working hard to provide the goods and services required in a safe environment for both visitors and their employees. Please respect the guidelines put in place by the individual businesses to help stop spread.

We are regularly engaging with the town centre businesses and will be working with them to strive for a vibrant town centre once non-essential businesses are permitted to re-open. But for now, on behalf of the town centre businesses, please stay home and stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back to a bustling town centre again soon.”

During the current lockdown period, there have been alterations made to car parking in Swindon town centre. Brunel North and Spring Gardens are completely closed. Brunel West, Fleming Way and Whalebridge are open but with NO lift access. All surface level car parks where you pay and display are open for essential journeys. Car park tariffs are in operation.
