Bishopstone and Above

An 8-mile walk looking at traditional buildings, the landscape and it’s use and the history of the Downs above Bishopstone. This will include a small Iron Age hillfort and the site where Alfred fought a battle against the Danes.

Meet walk leader Michael Lilley at the pond in Bishopstone Village.

Wear clothes to suit the weather and stout walking shoes, sun hat or sun screen if hot.

Take binoculars if you have them, and a packed lunch and cool drink.
