National Apprentice Week: TGt Meets - Keely Adams

We interviewed Keely Adams, First City Nursing's latest apprentice.

Where does that apprentice live: Swindon

What is their title in the business? Healthcare Assistant

What is the title of their apprenticeship and which organisation is the provider of that apprenticeship? ST 2 , Provider T2

What school/college did you attend? I went to Dorcan academy, I didn’t go to collage I went straight to caring .

What were your favourite subjects? It was health and social , as it was very helpful with my job I wanted to do . It was something that I would always wanted to do .

Why have you chosen an apprenticeship? As I wanted to do coursework which I’m on at the moment and I’m half way through my level 2

Was it an alternative to university or are you a graduate apprentice? I am just a graduate apprentice for caring .

If the latter, which university did you attend and which degree did you obtain? Went straight to work .

Why did you choose an apprenticeship? Carer

How’s it going?

Really good I love my job and it’s very helpful , the staff is amazing . Everyone is very nice and very supportive .

What are you learning?

I am doing moving  and handing at the moment and health and social  and my exams for my maths and English in February. I’m half way through it as I finish in June and hopefully I complete it all for the best I can .

Where do you hope it will take you?

Me finishing my corse work for my level 2 and putting in a lot of effort for work and making your self an amazing carer by using good skills I have learnt.
