What Halloween events are happening in Swindon this year?

Halloween may be very different this year with COVID-19 restrictions in place, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the spooky season safely! We've rounded up some of the best Halloween trails going on around the town this year.

Ramleaze and Shaw Halloween Scarecrow Trail

Dates: 17th October - 31st October

About: The Ramleaze and Shaw Halloween scarecrow trail will take place up until October 31st with this year’s spooky theme being Halloween movies and characters. You can pick up your map from The Village Inn at Shaw Village Centre for £3 with all proceeds going to Brookfield Primary School.

Eastcott Halloween Trail

Dates: October 30th - 31st

About: The Eastcott Halloween trail will take place across two days at the end of December running from 4pm to 8pm. The trail will be a fun family-friendly event where you will take a tour of various areas and admire the window and garden displays that have been set up.

Halloween Scarecrow Trail - Tadpole Village

Date: October 31st

About: Take a tour on the Tadpole Garden village scarecrow trail and watch your kids excitement grow as they admire the spooky scarecrows on show around the area. Entry costs just £1 which will give you an activity pack, and these can be collected from Sainsbury’s between 10am and 2pm on 24th/25th October.

Redhouse and Oakhurst Halloween Scarecrow Trail

Dates: October 18th to November 1st

About: Set around the Oakhurst and Redhouse areas, the scarecrow trail includes 30 different houses with 30 different scarecrows to identify and guess the identity of. The event takes place across two weeks and you can download a free trail map and answer sheet on their Facebook page here.

Covingham Halloween Pumpkin Trail

Dates: 31st October

About: Taking place on Halloween night, this is one spooky scarecrow trail that you don’t want to miss. Take a tour around the Covingham area and see what scarecrows you can spot. The event will run from 3pm to 8pm with trail maps available for collection from 63 Mallard Close, SN3 5JG.

Family Films Scarecrow Trail

Dates: 18th October to 31st October

About: Put on by the Catherine Wayte Primary School in Abbey Meads, this halloween trail is based around family films and will include some amazing designs featuring some of the children’s favourite film characters. The event starts on October 18th with trail sheets available at both 10 Kelly Gardens and 62 Tracy Close, each costing £3.

Swindon Halloween Trail

Dates: 18th October to 1st November

About: Put on by the team at Days Out For Kids, this Halloween trail is free for all and will take place at Lydiard Park across the half-term and Halloween.
