Threshold's Party in the Park 2023

51 Years of Outstanding Human Services to the Homeless of Swindon. Celebration Event “Party in the Park”!

Threshold Housing Link, Swindon’s Homeless Charity, is celebrating their 51st Year Anniversary of compassionate, high quality, public service to the direct benefit of the homeless in Swindon. Threshold are hosting a celebratory “Party In The Park” event on Saturday 8th July between 2-9PM at the Swindon Bowl, Old Town Gardens.

Michael Keenan chief executive said “We are very proud of over half a century of outstanding public service. Threshold have been there constantly for the homeless, on the frontline since 1972, providing critical lifesaving and life-changing services to the homeless in Swindon. Our team continues to expand by attracting highly skilled and specialist staff to assist our work. We would have loved to have done ourselves out of a need to exist but unfortunately a demand continues to rise for our range of services. Our organisation delivers humanistic, evidenced based and psychologically informed care to provide hope, strong advocacy and a ‘chance to change’ for the better the circumstances faced by those without a home in which to live”.

Kevin Parry, Operations and Social Impact Manager said, “The whole of Swindon is welcome! Join us for an incredible afternoon ‘Party In The Park', in one of the most beautiful outdoor music venues in our great town - The Bowl in Old Town Gardens. Keep Sat 8 July free and support and celebrate with Threshold by purchasing your tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/thresholds-party-in-the-park-tickets-598280171097

“Only £15 for a whole afternoon of live entertainment. With a festival atmosphere, there’s an incredible line up of local performers, acts and bands. It's a huge ABBA revival year and ABBA themselves chose PLANET ABBA to represent their world tour (CGI Hologram Avatars) in London. This is ABBA's chosen tribute band! We've booked them! They'll be playing for Threshold”.

“There’s some cherry-picked local bands. We’re very pleased to have Kova Me Badd with us, they’ve got such high energy presence on stage and have everyone up, dancing and singing”.

Michael added “There's tonnes of inflatables for children and adults, a bouncy castle, gladiator duel, a 50ft assault course, and now a rodeo bull. I think I may have also just secured a Unicorn, which will add a bit of magic to the event for everyone. Henna artist, festival and children's face painter, various vendors, great food, great bar and theatrical cocktails. Best dressed ABBA costume prizes!?It’s going to be a super family friendly summer day out! The Swindon’s Women’s Institute ladies make for us the very best cakes in the whole world. These are ear whispered recipes from their grandma’s. We can’t wait to host this for all of Swindon”.
