TGt Meets...Voodoo Room

On Saturday 23rd July at the Town Garden Bowl, Voodoo Room will be performing. We got the opportunity to ask them lots of questions before their show, so take a look below...

Tell us a little bit about Voodoo Room…

We play the music of Hendrix, Cream and Clapton. We formed the band 10 years ago, with idea that Hendrix and Clapton were regarded two of the best guitarists of their time, and some would say that the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Cream, inspired many of the bands that were to follow to this day.

What inspired you to fulfil a career in this particular industry?

I learnt to play guitar at an early age, listening to the classic bands of the 60’s and 70’s.

What’s your biggest achievement since working in this industry?

Having completed an album of original songs with Voodoo Room during the ‘Lockdown’, we signed a deal with Grooveyard Records, an American Rock label.

Have you performed at the Town Gardens Bowl before? Are you excited?

No, but it sounds like fun, playing to new audiences is always a challenge, and the venue looks very groovy.

What can people expect from your Town Gardens Bowl event on Saturday 23rd July?

We will be playing all the classics from the artists we cover, All Along The Watchtower, Layla, Sunshine Of Your Love, and many other favourites.

Who have you had the pleasure to record or tour with? Who would you say was your favourite?

All members of the band have worked with many top acts, these include Massive Attack, Duran Duran, Sting, Thunder, Bryan Adams, Fish, Steve Winwood, Arthur Brown, and ….Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce.

What’s your favourite song to perform?

All Along The Watchtower
