Cricklade Festival is back!

On Sunday 17th June, The Cricklade Festival is back! Staying true to its roots of providing free entertainment to the Cricklade community and promoting the town, the event continues to attract several thousand visitors from across North Wiltshire and beyond.

Committee Treasurer, Louise Stevens, said, "the festival organisers work hard throughout the year to get the right funding support from local businesses, individuals, groups and councils to ensure this stays a free, popular and varied day out. We are very grateful to them for their generosity."

Acts Coordinator Karen Hodge is thrilled with this year's line up. "We have a really interesting and unique group of entertainers this year, bringing some fun and variety to the event which we think will appeal to everyone."

The day will start at 11am with a parade led by The Cricklade Band. On the main stage throughout the day you'll find ventriloquism from Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Damon Scott, a touch of the sun with music from The Pantasy Steel Band, explosive break dancing from Exception-Elle, music from local jazz greats Fretless & Friends, drumming demonstrations from the Alternative Drum School and much more. Cricklade's ever-popular entertainer and guitarist Tony M will once again be the compère.

Visitors can find more entertainment on St Sampson's Primary School field which this year is expanded to include birds of prey, donkey rides, medieval longbows, fairground attractions, go-karts and inflatables, plus excellent children's craft-making and learning opportunities, balloon making from Lord Geoffrey and storytelling from The Story Shed. There will be food and drink on offer courtesy of local groups and organisations.

Also on the field, this year the amazing team behind The Old Stables at The White Hart Hotel will take over the music marquee featuring performances from some of the talented artists who have played the venue in recent months. A great opportunity to catch acts you may have missed.

The festival is always well supported by local pubs and businesses, plus street stalls and vendors, so there will be plenty of food, drink and shopping opportunities to suit all tastes and pockets.
