S Club Junior Brings Wyvern Theatre 'One Step Closer' to Panto

Aaron Renfree, who rose to fame at just 13 in the teenage pop group S Club Juniors, will join the Wyvern Theatre pantomime’s creative team this year as Associate Choreographer.

Renfree will be joining the Olivier Award nominee for Best Theatre Choreographer, Andrew Wright, to stage Swindon’s traditional family pantomime.

“I am very excited to be choreographing this year, bringing my unique commercial style to Swindon's annual family panto,” said Aaron.

S Club Juniors, who later became S Club 8, achieved 6 top ten singles and 2 top ten albums. They were the first ever UK group to have three consecutive singles at the number two spot in the UK popular music charts.

Since the bands split, in 2005, Aaron has worked on stage and screen alike. He performed in the original cast of Flashdance The Musical and the long running rock musical We Will Rock You. He has worked extensively in commercial dance on shows such as X Factor, Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice; dancing for Take That at the Brit Awards and The Royal Variety Performance; and numerous television performances for The Saturdays including their All Fired Up arena tour in 2011.

Aaron was also assistant choreographer and show director for the tours of X Factor Live.

“The Wyvern has a history of working with the top names in Dance. In our latest season alone, audiences can see Strictly Come Dancing’s Pasha Kovalev and The Russell Maliphant Company,” says Theatre Director Derek Aldridge. “It is therefore a privilege to see the latest up and coming choreographer join our creative team to support us in presenting another sensational pantomime.”
