'One Swindon" - What does this mean for older people?

The coming months see the start of many changes to the delivery and provision of services that local citizens rely upon and use.  In Swindon there are also major changes to the way that those traditionally responsible for providing services will engage with their service users and local communities.  The “One Swindon” vision that came into effect on 1 April 2012 provides the background to the new approaches, but general understanding of the implications of all these changes is poor, particularly amongst older people.

This open meeting aims to throw some light on the scope of these changes by discussing “One Swindon" – what does this mean for Older people?

The local authority, the NHS and other service providers are still grappling with exactly how best to introduce the required changes.  As such SOPF views the open meeting on 24 April as one of the opportunities for older people in Swindon to assist in the change implementation processes especially on matters which impact on their everyday lives..

If you would like to be involved in the meeting, or would like further information, contact the Chair of SOPF, Dave Brown, ([email protected])  or telephone 01793 612037.
