Lifeline care company receives top industry rating

Home Instead Senior Care Swindon and the Vale of White horse is the latest office to have been awarded the highest possible Outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), England’s care regulator.

Owned by Jill and John Kirk and managed by Tracey Morley, the Swindon office has received a glowing report from CQC inspectors. The team received an outstanding rating in 3 of the 5 areas including caring, well-led and responsive and are the first home care company in Swindon to receive an outstanding in 3 categories.

Summing up their findings on the company, inspectors found ‘overwhelming evidence that people using the service received exceptional care from staff who were exceedingly caring and passionate about providing a high quality service.’

During their inspection, the CQC team also discovered that the provision of care had a positive impact on clients as well as their relatives, due to people receiving ‘excellent care from a very reliable service.’

One relative said, “I think care is the wrong word; it is more than that. It is looking after someone with the same love and genuine desire to do their best that a relative would give.”

Home Instead was found to be an important part of the local community and frequently hold activities and workshops in the area. Many staff have become Dementia Friends Champions and hold Dementia Friends sessions which help inform people about dementia.

The team also sponsors free dementia awareness sessions, free dementia friendly cinema screenings and a monthly dementia friendly café, all of which provide people and their relatives with the chance to ‘share experiences, have contact with other people and give relatives a break from their caring duties.

General Manager, Tracey Morley, commented on the outstanding rating, “We are so delighted to have achieved an outstanding rating from the CQC. Our clients are the most important people in the world to us and we will continue strive to provide the best service we possibly can.

“We are 100% committed to providing the highest possible care. And for us that means care that is built around each of our client’s individual needs and the wishes of their families.”

Martin Jones, managing director of Home Instead is as equally impressed as the CQC. He said, “Well done to the entire team at Home Instead Swindon for their most recent outstanding rating. They have set high standards for themselves and have been delivering the best care for their clients and their family members.

“It is obvious after reading the report that every member of the team goes the extra mile and this is what sets them apart from the rest. Again, congratulations to everyone at Home Instead Swindon for this amazing achievement.”
