Sedgmen had been targetting the Undera event as a way of making amends, following a disappointing showing early in the week at Kurri Kurri.
The 23-year-old had bagged seven points from his opening three rides in the opening round of the series, but then incurred a heavy crash in the 16th heat.
In a cruel twist of events, Sedgmen would again go on to fall from his bike during the second round event in Undera, despite once again getting off to a perfect start.
Winning heat three, Sedgmen kept at bay both Jack Holder and Jordan Stewart to impose early dominance upon the tie.
But in heat eight the Robins' Aussie would again experience a hard meeting with the shale, being sent over the high side of the bike after hitting a rut in the track while racing on the outside of Brady Kurtz and Brodie Waters.
In what was a huge blow for Sedgmen's chances of a Championship revival, the Swindon star is now left hoping he will be fit enough to take his place in the final two rounds of the Championship at Gillman and Mildura respectively.
Speaking following the event, Sedgmen could not hide his disappointment: "I’m devastated with how tonight has gone. I wanted to put pressure on the guys at the top, and I was confident I could do that, but it’s just another night to forget," he said.
