Yaser Kasim pens two-year deal at Northampton following Swindon Town exit

After leaving Swindon Town this summer, midfielder Yaser Kasim has signed for League One club Northampton Town.

Kasim ended his time at Swindon Town this summer after four years at the club, following his arrival in the summer of 2013.

The Iraq international began his career at Fulham, before a time at Tottenham and then Brighton, which also saw loans out to Luton and Macclesfield.

He made over 100 appearances for Swindon during his stint in Wiltshire and in the 2014-15 season was heavily linked to Premier League outfits such as Swansea, but a move away was never finalised.

The 26-year-old will be best remembered for being a key part of the Swindon side that got to the League One play-off final in 2015.

Kasim was offered a new deal this summer to stay in Swindon.
